My Journey in Real Estate:
EARLY LIFE AND FOUNDATIONS
I grew up in the mountains of western North Carolina, surrounded by the beauty of nature and a lifestyle that embraced horses, cows, chickens, gardening, and countless times spent playing in the creek. This upbringing instilled in me a deep appreciation for the land and a strong connection to the outdoors.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND CAREER BEGINNINGS
After completing my studies at Georgia State University with a degree in biology, I began my professional journey as an Environmental Specialist for the Health Department in Fulton County, Georgia. My primary responsibilities involved issuing permits for septic systems and wells. Through this role, I developed a keen interest in real estate, which would eventually shape my career path.
ENTRY INTO REAL ESTATE
In 1996, I obtained my Georgia salesperson license, marking the start of my real estate career. I continued to grow professionally, becoming a broker-owner in 2008 and later acquiring my North Carolina broker license. Since joining eXp Realty in 2022, I have been able to step back from many broker duties and dedicate more time to working directly with buyers and sellers.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
For many years, my focus was on selling single-family residential properties. However, my deep knowledge and passion for land and nature naturally led me to work extensively with acreage properties, ranging from raw land to developed estates.
EVOLUTION OF THE INDUSTRY
When I first entered the real estate sector, property marketing had not yet transitioned to the internet, and public access to property information was limited. Over the course of my career, I have witnessed profound changes in the industry, including significant market fluctuations, advancements in technology that include public access, changes in laws, and evolving business practices.

Despite all these changes, one constant remains: the importance of relationships. The human element is central to buying and selling homes. Emotions, body language, and communication are just as vital to a successful real estate transaction as experience, market knowledge, and negotiation skills.
